Jones was also part of the team that finished second in the 100-meter Relay event. Jones was the winner of the NCAA Indoor Hurdles contest in the years 2003 and 2004. Jones had completed her college education in 2005, started to put in the effort for track. Jones won both in the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track competitions during the same season.

Brandt was raised and born in Cape Town in South Africa. She immigrated into Auckland New Zealand with her family in her late teens.
